ARMY DAY is celebrated every year on January 15 in recognition of Field Marshal K.M Cariappa as the first commander-in-chief of the Indian army. This year marks the 74th Army Day by honouring the selfless fighters of the country who have set the biggest examples by risking their lives for the motherland. The Indian Army originated from the East India Company, which was known as the British Indian Army and later named the National Army after India’s independence.
Army Day marks this day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.
