Robotics
Robotics club aims at implementing technology enhanced learning in classrooms. It aims to promote robotics as a tool for application of concepts learnt by students in classrooms using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) integration by creating multiple intelligence based learning environment.
Robotics also provides an opportunity to rediscover and redesign learning by engaging students in an inquiry based approach to collaborate and be creative in solving open-ended robotics challenges. It is best suited for Challenge Based Learning and Problem Based Learning.
The module for the students help them to design and build their robots starting from the drawing board and it encourages students to program the robots for the autonomous part of the competition as well as user-controlled portion. Students learn the fundamentals of engineering design and computer programming. Students work in groups based on age and experience. It improves creative thinking skills, social skills, problem-solving skills & computer programming skills.

STEM/STEAM
In the current phase of technological revolution, innovations have become a part of every day life for humans. STEM education brings about a paradigm shift in early learning and aims to keep curiosity and genius streak of the kids intact through the growing years. The STEM field includes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, all fields in high demand for a variety of industries. Getting a STEM education can lead to STEM careers. The STEM workforce provides the foundation for building the next innovations in tech, engineering, and other fields.
STEM education is best when it’s hands-on, allowing students to grasp complicated concepts in science, engineering, and other subjects. The subjects lay the foundation for 21st-century skills in high demand in today’s workforce. Students can begin their career preparations in high school without having a clear career path in mind and translate scientific and engineering thinking into their journey later on.
Olympiads
In today’s competitive times, it is vital to walk shoulder to shoulder with everyone. With the objective to prepare our children for tomorrow, the school in collaboration with science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), Silver Zone, Akhil Bhartiya Hindi, Teri Green Olympiad & Concours Roman Rolland French Olympiad conducts Olympiads in various disciplines like Mathematics, Science, IT, G.K., English, Hindi, French etc.
Astronomy Laboratory
Astronomy is the branch of natural science that studies the elements of the universe including galaxies, planets, the Solar System, celestial objects, stars, comets, outer space phenomena and more. Major sub-disciplines of astronomy include astrophysics, physical cosmology, solar astronomy, planetary science and stellar astronomy. Astronomy provides an escape to the kids into the world of space, for which we ensure that hands on experiences are provided to the kids, For this we have a well furnished astronomy laboratory where kids could gain an insight into the space world.
Clubs
To give students an opportunity to showcase and hone their talents and also prepare them for intra school competitions, various club activities are conducted through the year. We guide students to discover and create their own understanding Club activities not only help students shape their personal interests and hobbies but also improve their leadership and social skills .. Besides academics, co scholastic activities form an integral part of the school curriculum. This aspect includes wide range of co-curricular activities.
DANCE
When we dance, the purpose is not to get a certain place on the floor. It is to enjoy each step along the way! Dance Education in the art of dance develops the knowledge and skills required to create, perform and understand movement as a means of artistic communication. GDGPS aims to foster such skill set in students that they come out as achievers with enormous respect towards their work. ART and CRAFT
The intrinsic pleasures and stimulation of the art experience do more than sweeten an individual’s life, they can connect people more deeply to the world and open them to new ways of seeing. Art education in school aims to create the foundation to forge stronger bonds and cohesion among people. An effective derailment of the programme encourages the child to express in a holistic manner with enhanced observation and better skills at academic work. CHESS
Chess is one of the oldest and most popular board games. The objective of the game is to capture the opponent’s king. It is an incredibly beneficial pastime, because playing chess results in better brain function, improved memory and cognitive abilities, strategic thinking and attention improvement. All of these benefits are directly related to the practice of chess, both in real-life and virtual environments. Cognitive ability is a very broad term, it includes perception, motor, language, visual and spatial processing and executive functions which is fostered by practise of chess.MATHS
Mathematics club provides an opportunity to enjoy and have fun with mathematics with peers who share such interest. Mathematics club also helps to create and maintain interest in Mathematics using the structures which encourage students. Mathematical Reasoning, Puzzles, Brain teasers and group activities are conducted. Certain activities like discussions, lectures, certain mathematical games are arranged frequently. Ultimately, this is helpful for students as it gives an idea of the practical utility of mathematics in addition to creating their interest in mathematics.
DRAMATICS
Drama is an effective tool in earning cross- cultural, and cross-curricular concepts along with value based learning. Children like to move and to interact with others. In drama we ask them to do exactly this. Rather than sitting still and listening they are encouraged to move, speak and respond to one another. Students who are challenged by reading and writing often respond more positively to the imaginative and multi-sensory learning offered by drama. This in turn helps them develop such skills as creativity, enquiry, communication, empathy, self-confidence, cooperation, leadership and negotiation. Most importantly, drama activities are fun which make learning both enjoyable and memorable.
HOME SCIENCE
Home Science education at school provides students with varied career opportunities and also enables them to manage their routine activities efficiently. It makes them independent and helps them work in an efficient and organized way. It is both an art and science. It’s an ‘art’ because it helps one manage resources in a skilful manner, and it’s a ‘science’ because it helps to improve personal life by offering the knowledge in the field.
CYBER CLUB
The school believes in overall development of its students. CYBER Club (Computer Club) Creates awareness on the current trends in computers & technology and Cyber world. It also sensitizes students towards the social responsibilities and make them vigilant. Several activities are conducted related to posters, presentation, web pages and questionnaire. Students sharpen their skills on various applications like: Tux Paint, Scratch, HTML etc. Concern regarding Cyber Security is also discussed to make them aware. Benefits and regulation of Internet usage are also highlighted.
Quiz Club
In order to cater to the intelligence of young inquisitive Goenkans’ needs, we organize Quiz Club. This includes all the areas of General Knowledge such as Science and Technology, Science Encyclopedia, Astronomy Quiz, Science Spell Bee, and Science Matica covered through interactive quiz sessions.
Eco Club
Goenkans etch to grow to be the responsible and most trusted citizens of the country and the world. Therefore, at Eco Club they intake a marvelous opportunity to participate in various events as well as activities like climate change awareness drive, tree plantation, say no to plastic campaign, cleanliness drive through various modes.Trips and Excursions
Children who experience holistic development during their school years grow up to become global citizens. As important as it is to learn Math and English, it is equally necessary that kids in school get a proper education in the arts and are taken on field trips. Giving equal weightage to both indoor as well as outdoor activities is what will make children well prepared for what lies outside in the real world.
Trips and excursions play a prominent role in providing the child the desired experience. It is through these trips, a child learns to channelize his/her social skills. Also, a child gets extensive experience beyond four walls of classroom. So, the school organizes amusing and informative trips to diverse places.
Social initiative
The onus for providing a well-rounded educational experience for every student falls directly on the shoulders of the school administrators, teachers, faculty, and staff. However, this limited perspective overlooks the fact that much of a child’s life and education occurs outside the classroom. What happens before the school day starts and after it ends can be just as important and impactful in the lives of your students as what happens during the traditional school day. This is why community engagement and involvement in schools is such an important facet of the educational process.
Throughout a student’s life, it is important that students are given opportunities to volunteer their time and energy to help better their community and the lives of the people around them. These community outreach opportunities provide ways for students to make a difference in someone else’s life and realize the beauty of selflessness.
Students who spend time volunteering and working with others realize it can be up to them to make a change to social injustices. Students love being able to stand up for what they believe is right.
The visits have made our students empathetic and compassionate for the under-privileged and the needy ones and take pride in contributing to such worthy causes. This noble cause of spreading smiles and happiness among these less privileged children, has given immense peace and happiness to our team of students. The school is actively involved with an NGO and has actively taken part in collecting and sending donations for kerala relief fund, blanket donation etc. even during pandemic. A number of such visits are arranged throughout the year for the students to develop empathy and sensitivity among students.

Role of books from our lives cannot be robbed off but digitalisation and staying updated is part of living a wholesome life. The school believes in imparting best learning experience to the children. So, the school has installed Edu comp services to widen their learning experience.
Sports
Playing a sport at GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL, SECTOR 9, ROHINI is a great way for children to take a break from academics and release their effervescent energy. It also helps them lead fuller and happier lives as regular sports and fitness activities have proven to provide not only physical benefits but also social and psychological benefits to children. Our Goenkans who are trained at various sports activities are given the exposure to exhibit their talents at all the possible levels. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance etc. Sports today has also evolved as a form of entertainment and also offers promising careers.
We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of sports events at inter-school, state, national and international levels. Every student is encouraged to join at least one school sports team. The P.E. teachers we employ are young and energetic with a good amount of expertise in sports and provide coaching for sports like cricket, basketball etc.
For students to know the benefits of the sports they play, they are informed about the body parts and muscle development in playing each sport along with game knowledge.
BASKETBALL
Basketball adds on to the development of a child’s mind, tolerance, coordination and most importantly imparts a sense of rigor. Like any other sport, even basketball counts for a lot of practice and dedication.
LAWN TENNIS
Lawn tennis is a sport that requires individual performance and teamwork and coordination. Children learn to work in a team, take responsibility and trust their teammates.
SKATING
This sport develops a child’s strength and teaches them agility. This sport is one of the earliest sports taught to children. It exposes students to the pleasure and discipline of learning a new sport and the value of exercise and good health.
ATHLETICS
Activities like Marathons, Races, Long Jump etc are all a part of Athletics which boost the morale of our students to try harder with better preparations every time they perform. These activities stretch their abilities and enhance their stamina, muscle tone and have a number of physical benefits.
CRICKET
Cricket is a team sport which provides children and young people with a variety of skills needed to develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity. It is fun, inclusive, and the sport provides a wealth of opportunities to take part.
CHESS
The benefits of teaching Chess to kids and integrating it into the educational curriculum extend far beyond academic capabilities. Chess, students learn to analyze, to plan and to perform, both over the board and in real life. The children learn how to concentrate, how to think ahead, how to solve complex problems, and how to make difficult decisions—all valuable life skills.
YOGA
Yoga’s innate ability to cease the mental chatter and live in the moment reduces stress and anxiety, showing profound benefits in every sphere of life. Students are very stressed individuals, keen to outperform themselves and prove their worth every chance they get.Yoga helps them to deal with their stress and bring back some peace of mind. Those who regularly practice yoga not only report lower levels of stress and anxiety but also subsequently it also improves academic performance.
