World Students’ Day is observed on October 15 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the 11th President of India, Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam aka APJ Abdul Kalam. The United Nations (UN) declared Abdul Kalam’s birthday as World Students’ Day. The UN decided to honour the great scientist and teacher on his 79th birth anniversary in the year 2010. Abdul Kalam is remembered as the People’s President and he is not just limited to his role as a scientist in developing the nation’s military missiles, which gave him the nickname Missile Man of India. The Bharat Ratna recipient is also popular for his role as a teacher and continues to do so until his last breath. The reason for being the Missile Man in India is his contributions to the growth and progress of the programs related to India’s Missile and nuclear weapons. He made many new innovations in the sector of science and technology with his passion for the field. APJ Abdul Kalam wished that the world should recall him as a teacher. He was one of the presidents in India who had earned much love and respect as a political leader for his patriotism. The legend had written many motivational quotes giving inspiration to the world to be happy and successful with the ambitions that needed to be fulfilled. “To succeed in your mission, you must have single-minded devotion to your goal”.
