The nation observes the 97th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE, who was born on December 25, 1924.
Since 2014, Vajpayee’s birth anniversary has been celebrated annually as Good Governance Day. Atal Bihari Vajpayee – a politician, a statesman and a poet was the 11th Prime minister of India. He was conferred the Bharat Ratna, India’s top civilian honour. He co- founded the Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP).It was under his leadership that India conducted nuclear test in 1988 and defeated Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999.
