  1. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October. This day is celebrated to mark the birthday of the Father of the nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapuji. Internationally this day is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as Gandhiji was the preacher of non-violence.
    2nd October is also celebrated to mark the birthday of Lal Bhadur Shastri, an Indian statesman who served as the third Prime Minister of India.
    Shastri ji is recognized for his slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”ji
