Buddha Purnima is celebrated across the world. People remember Lord Buddha and worship his idols. Buddha Purnima is the most sacred festival in Buddhism. It is widely celebrated in India and in other Asian countries. The enlightenment and Nirvana of Gautama Buddha are reminded on the eve of Buddha Purnima. It is commemorated for the birth of Lord Buddha or Prince Siddhartha who was the founder of Buddhism. On Buddha Purnima devotees make donations to the temple. On this day the Buddhists bathe and wear only white clothes. Incense, flowers, candles and fruits are offered to the statue of the Buddha.
