“Maha Shivratri is a day when you awaken your inner consciousness to discover the purpose of your being.”
Maha Shivratri is a Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva and is celebrated annually in the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna (February/March). The festival is considered to be one of the most significant festivals in Hinduism and is celebrated with great devotion and zeal. On this day, devotees perform puja (worship) to Lord Shiva, offer prayers, and observe fasts. The Maha Shivratri puja rituals include the traditional Hindu prayers and offerings of milk, honey, and fruits to Lord Shiva. It is believed that performing puja during the night of Maha Shivratri brings blessings, peace, and prosperity to the devotees and their families. The name also refers to the night when Shiva is regarded to perform his divine dance, called the Tandava. GD Goenka Public School Rohini Sector 9, wishes Maha Shivratri to all.
