Human rights are the basic rights and freedom that belong to every person in the world. Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. HUMAN RIGHTS DAY is observed every year on 10 December. United Nations General Assembly adopted Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.

This year’s Human Rights Day theme relates to ‘Equality’ and Article 1 of the UDHR – “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”
