The International Day of Peace, also officially known as World Peace Day, is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence. The day was first observed in 1981 and is kept by many nations, political groups, military groups, and people. To inaugurate the day, the United Nations Peace Bell is rung at UN Headquarters in New York City. Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace. GD Goenka Public School, Rohini, Sector 9, on this day spreads the message ”Peace. Let’s give it a chance!”.
