National Unity Day is celebrated in India on 31 October. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India. National Unity Day is to honour the efforts of this great man, who is popularly known as the “Unifier of India,” The government announces a unique theme for the annual celebration of National Unity Day every year. All the events, talks, discussions, campaigns are planned around the theme. GD Goenka Public School, Rohini, Sector 9, remembers such a great leader on this day!
