World Lion Day on August 10 aims to raise awareness about the plight faced by lions. World Lion Day, therefore, brings attention to this endangered species by raising funds and amping up protective measures. The first World Lion Day came into being in 2013 to protect the remaining big cats living in the wild. The day is volunteered around the globe at zoos and natural habitats to conserve the species.
