February 23, 2013 is observed as WORLD ROTARY DAY, which is the world’s first and one of the largest non-profit humanitarian service organizations which encourages all citizens to join the foundations and be a part in recognizing Rotary International for its notable years of service to improving the human condition in local communities around the world. There are a number of Rotary Districts in in State or respective region with significant number of Rotary clubs within those Districts, representing Rotarians which actively sponsor service projects that address critical issues such as poverty, health, hunger, illiteracy, and the environment in their local communities, throughout the region. That day is also called World Understanding and Peace Day. In lieu of fulfilling their continued goal for goodwill, peace and understanding among all people of the world, the club also celebrates February as Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month.
