Teachers’Day is observed every year on 5th September, the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great teacher, philosopher, and the second President of India. When his students wanted to celebrate his birthday, he suggested that the day should instead be dedicated to all teachers. Since 1962, it has been celebrated nationwide as Teachers’ Day.
It is a special occasion celebrated to honor and appreciate teachers for their invaluable role in shaping students’ lives and contributing to society.
